Mexican Pepper Steak

Ingredients

* 1 1/2 lbs. top sirloin or other tender steak
* 2 tablespoons oil or lard
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 cups coarsely cut onion
* 2 cups coarsely cut green pepper
* 1 can (4 oz ) diced green chilies
* 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon cumin
* 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 2 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, chopped
* Hot cooked rice

Directions

1. Tim fat from steak. Cut into bite-size cubes or into thin strips.
2. Heat oil in large skillet over high heat. Add meat and garlic. Cook, tossing, until browned.
3. Add onion, green pepper and chilies. Cook and stir over medium heat until vegetables are tender crisp, about 3 minutes.
4. Add seasonings and tomato.
5. Heat briefly until tomatoes warmed.
6. Serve with rice.
