Moms Swiss Steak

* Round or Chuck Steak, 2 ” thick
* 1/2 c flour
* 2 t salt
* 1 t black pepper
* Shortening
* 2 T Worchestershire
* 1 onion, sliced in rings
* 1 large can whole tomatoes (Hunts, or other that is NOT sweet)
Directions
1. Mix together flour, salt and pepper
2. Pound into both sides of steak
3. Brown both sides of steak in deep electric skillet, in 1 - 2 T melted shortening
4. Lay onion slices on top
5. Cover with tomatoes
6. Heat to simmer
7. Reduce heat to low
8. Cover and cook 1 1/2 hours
