Steak With Savoury Bourbon Sauce

Ingredients

* 4 medium sized grilling steaks
* Or
* 4 to 6 chicken breasts
* Marinade:
* 1 cup bourbon whiskey (I suggest Jack Daniel’s)
* 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
* ¼ cup cider vinegar
* ½ cup soy sauce
* 2 tsp crushed or minced garlic
* 1 tsp fine ground black pepper
* Sauce:
* 1 cup bourbon whiskey (JD again)
* ½ cup packed brown sugar
* ¼ cup cider vinegar
* ½ cup soy sauce
* 2 tsp crushed or minced garlic
* 1 tsp fine ground black pepper

Directions

1. Mix all marinade together with a whisk and pour over meat.
2. Let sit for 30 minutes to overnight (depends on how much time you have)
3. About 15 minutes before you start grilling the meat, mix all sauce ingredients in a small pot or sauce pan. Bring to a quick boil and then reduce heat to medium or medium/low heat and let reduce to about half of what the liquid level was when you started. It won’t be thick, it will still be quite liquidy.
4. Grill meat to preferred ‘doneness’.
5. Serve with sides, spooning sauce over meat and veggies.
